4/25/2021 (Permalink)
Whenever there is a water leak in a client's home, the immediate focus is on turning the water off. Then the floors and structure come to mind. Mopping up a great deal of water can be time-consuming, and if not completed quickly, humidity levels in the home can lead to mold generation.
High humidity situations are one of the reasons, we at SERVPRO respond to water damage events in Park Forest so quickly. We know that the client is worried about their home and its contents. A fast response allows us to control the damage and limit the time it can take to restore their home. We use a variety of equipment depending on the extent of the water in the house. The equipment may include pumps, dehumidifiers, air movers, and vacuums to extract the water.
Manage Client Contents
The contents of a home can be divided into categories. The categories depend on the degree of damage and the type of material. Some are rush items because the client requires these items for everyday living. Others need to be dried and then cleaned and restored. Many are removed for storage when there is no need to clean or dry the items. The last category are items that need special processing. Before restoring these items, SERVPRO may require approval from the client, the insurance adjuster, or both.
Documentation, Tracking, and Staging
SERVPRO technicians are trained to properly manage all aspects of a client's water damage event. Every item must be cataloged. The catalog includes action required and location the item is stored. All of this organization allows our technicians to respond to a client's water damage situation and restore everything as quickly as possible, "Like it never even happened."
Once the home is completely restored, everything cleaned and restored off-site can be returned to the customer's home.
